Days 1- 3: Beijing
Wander the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square before taking in the view from Jingshan Park. In the afternoon, take in the spectacular Summer Palace, which sprouts above the lush forest canopy and sits along the serene Kunming Lake, before a welcome dinner.
Tread the cobblestone pavement of the majestic Great Wall at Mutianyu and enjoy a picnic amongst the breathtaking scenery.

Days 4 - 6: Xian
The next day, Visit the Temple of Heaven and enjoy a rickshaw ride in the Hutong backstreets of the capital and share a meal with a local family in a traditional Hutong home. Later in the afternoon, catch your high speed train to Xi’an.
Travel to the nearby Terracotta Warriors. An entire army, from foot soldiers to cavalry and generals, were entombed here 2,200 years ago to protect emperor Qin Shi Huangas in the afterlife. Back in Xian, climb the City Wall and visit the vibrant Muslim Quarter and see the Great Mosque. enjoy a dumpling banquet to taste the local cuisine. Stroll around the City Park and learn about the locals’ favourite morning activities. Discover the Han Yang Lin Mausoleum, the lesser known tomb of Emperor Liu Qi of the Han Dynasty.
The next day, visit the Wild Goose Pagoda before learning to make your own dumplings and enjoy them for a group dinner.

Days 7 – 8: Chengdu
In the morning, visit the Han Yang Ling Mausoleum, where Emperor Jing and Empress Wang were buried around 2,000 years ago, before your flight to Chengdu. In the evening experience the best local food in Chengdu. We travel by Tuk-Tuk and enjoy traditional dumplings, noodles, Sichuan dishes, and a few more surprises sum up this delicious off-the-beaten-path experience.
The next day, visit the region’s most famous inhabitants at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This non-profit organisation is a world leader in the research, breeding and conservation of endangered pandas. In the evening, you have the option of attending an evening of traditional Sichuan Opera at a Jingli Face Changing performance (additional cost).

Days 9 - 12: Yangtze River Cruise
The following morning is free for you to enjoy at leisure, or choose an optional activity like a visit to Dafu’s Cottage or a Bamboo Bike Tour, before a fast train and transfer take you to board your Yangtze River Cruise with Victoria Cruises.
Asia’s longest river, the Yangtze offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country. Travel from Chongqing to Yichang, sailing through the famous Yangtze Three Gorges including a visit the imposing Three Gorges Dam.

Days 13 - 14: Shanghai
Disembark your cruise in the late morning before your flight to Shanghai.
The next day, walk on the shimmering Bund, visit the Shanghai Museum, showcasing China’s rich cultural history. Wander through the backstreets of the Old Town for a glimpse of local life, until you reach the charming Yuyuan Garden.
On your last night in Shanghai enjoy the wonder of the Shanghai Circus, a spectacular show of acrobatics that will amaze you.
