ITINERARY

Days 1: Beijing

Upon arrival meet your guide and transfer on a comfortable private car directly to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your disposal to relax or explore on your own.

Day 2: Beijing

Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City (closed Monday), Jinshan Park, Summer Palace

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver and visit Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City. Learn about the imperial life with your local expert private guide. After lunch, visit Jinshang Park. Situated high above the Forbidden City, it offers magnificent views of the sprawling palace complex. Explore the elaborate pavilions nestled amongst lush greenery and soak up the vibrant local atmosphere. Later head to the Summer Palace, the largest imperial garden in the world. Enjoy the harmonious ensemble of temples, pavilions and bridges at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.  (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 3: Beijing

Temple of Heaven, Great Wall at Mutianyu and Olympic Stadium

Begin at the Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for a good yearly harvest. It is the world's largest temple and altar complex, and a truly unforgettable experience. Later, travel to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, one of the best-preserved sections and a must-see for those wanting to explore the rich heritage of the area. Experience panoramic views of mountainous landscapes and lush forests from the cable car journey, avoiding the 4000+ steps to reach the top! Spend time exploring the historical site and beautiful scenery on foot then re-join the cable car to ascend. On arrival back in Beijing, see the architecturally fascinating buildings of the Olympic stadium from outside, before heading back to the hotel.   (Breakfast & Lunch)

Day 4: Beijing

Drum Tower and Hutongs

In the morning, visit the historic drum tower and bell tower then explore the surrounding area with your guide. From here, take a rickshaw ride to the oldest residential area of Beijing and arrive at a family home, or hutong, with your guide. Learn about the traditional way of life and share a meal with the host family. If you are continuing from Beijing by train, a transfer t the train station is included.   (Breakfast & Lunch)
