Day 1 - 3: Beijing
Start the day with a stroll around Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, before taking in the inspiring views from Jinshang Park. In the afternoon, visit the serene Summer Palace on the shore of the glittering Kunming Lake.
The following day, climb one of the best preserved sections of the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Stop for a picnic lunch and take in the beautiful scenery.

Days 5 - 6: Xian
Admire the harmonious Temple of Heaven, discover the Hutongs and share authentic local lunch in a Hutong family home. Enjoy a rickshaw ride around the Houhai area and climb on the Drum Tower where you can enjoy the drumming performance. Late in the afternoon, take a fast train to Xian.
The following day, head to see the Terracotta Army, over 8,000 lifelike and life-sized clay statues that have been painstakingly restored to their original condition. After a traditional lunch return to Xian and climb the City Walls. Visit the Great Mosque, China’s oldest and largest mosque andf explore the city’s Muslim Quarter, a grid of tree-shaded walking streets lined with aromatic street food booths and unique souvenir markets.
Enjoy the next morning at leisure before visiting the seven-story Wild Goose Pagoda. In the evening, try a fun lesson in the art of Chinese dumplings, a delicacy that is famous in the Xi’an region. After mastering the skills required of dough making and rolling, filling preparation and then the assembly, enjoy the fruits of your labour with a traditional dumpling feast for dinner.

Days 7 – 9: Shanghai & Zhujiajiao Water Town
Stop by the Han Yang Lin Mausoleum before your flight to Shanghai.
In the morning, we walk along the Bund to Yu Garden and the surrounding Old Town area. The Garden, heavily influenced by classical Suzhou garden design, holds more than 40 traditional halls, towers, pagodas, and pavilions. Afterwards, enjoy free time for the rest of the day, then take a late walk through the cobblestone alleys of Xintiandi, where the old architecture and culture from Shanghai’s past meets modern, fashionable lifestyle trends and taste. You may choose to see the spectacular Shanghai Acrobats tonight (addiotnal cost).
On your last morning before departure, you may choose to take part in one of our optional activities such as the China Art Palace, French Concession Cycling Tour or Wet Market Tours & La Mian Cooking Class.
